This was the 2nd time I’ve gone to see the CP Christmas Train in Portage. It was exciting to see the train roll into town all decked out in lights and music playing. It’s just a pity that both times I’ve seen it, it’s been in daylight hours!
There were lots of people of all ages around to enjoy the event. Kids, Moms, Dads and Grandparents. The Salvation Army was on hand collecting donations for the local food bank and were also presented a cheque for $6000 from Canadian Pacific. Madeline Merlo, a young musician out of BC and Scott Helman, a recording artist from Toronto, put on a great show for us. Perhaps next year, if the train stops in Portage again, it’ll be in the evening when we can truly appreciate the beauty of all the lights.
